In its Investor Relations Strategy Meeting (IR 2019), Sony revealed some of the console's features. In addition to features such as Ray Tracing, backward compatibility, storage support, and 3D audio, hardware specs such as the 7 nm Octa-core AMD processor, high-speed SSD, and graphics from AMD's Radeon Navi Family were unveiled.
Design
The console comes in two variants. The only difference between the two is the optical drive availability, as the standard version is fitted with a 4 K UHD Blu-ray drive that is absent from the Digital Version. Sony's PlayStation 5 has a futuristic look. Sony is right in saying the style is daring, breathtaking. The console's black and the white color scheme matches the DualSense controller the company showcased months earlier. It is well complemented also by the influence of blue lighting. Thanks to the bulge, the Standard Model is recognizable due to the disc drive incision. The Digital Edition has that and is, thus, less voluminous.
However, as revealed vertically by Sony sands, the console can also be placed horizontally on a flat surface. The stand supports a horizontal as well as a vertical orientation according to The Verge. From the image above it is obvious that the stand on the Traditional model is different from that on the Digital model. Perhaps it has something to do with the extra bulge, as Sony has already confirmed that the two models would not have a performance difference.
Accessories
For the upcoming gaming console, Sony also announced some accessories. This includes controllers, HD cameras, remote media, a controller charging socket, and a wireless headset. All come with a color scheme with black and white that suits the actual console vibe.
